Criteria for Gas carriers programmed to load at Gasco berth Ruwais
1. Maximum Capacity 125,000 M3
2. Minimum Capacity 28,000 M3
3. Minimum distance centre of manifold to end/start of flat side is 28 metres
4. Height of manifold above chart datum between 7.7 and 24.0 metres.
5. Maximum height of railing above chart datum in way of manifold is 21.8 metres.
6. Distance between ship’s side and 12” manifold connections between 1.5 and 6.1 metres.
7. Four loading arms (2 liquid, 2 vapour) can be connected if centre to centre distance between 12” connection is between 1.6 and 3.5 metres.
8. Two loading arms (vapour or liquid can be connected if C-C distance is between 1.1 and 1.6 metres.
9. Vessel not to have carried ammonia on her latest two subsequent voyages.
10. Cargo tanks will be cooled down on arrival as per following temperatures: Propane Bottom - 40 Deg. C
Middle - 30 Deg. C
Top (excluding dome space) - 20 Deg. C
Butane Bottom - 2 Deg. C.
11. The Cargo tanks pressure on arrival not to exceed 70 mbs.
12. Vessels calling at Ruwais for the first time, to inform GASCO Ruwais not less than 48 hours prior to arrival of the disposition of manifold connections from bow to stern, indicating which connection to be used for Propane, Butane, liquid or vapour together with the Centre to Centre distance between them (e.g. P/V-2.1, P/L-.7, B/L-2.1, B/V). Also an indication whether connections are dedicated or can be changed at short notice. Vessel fitted with non-standard OCIMF manifold will load one grade at a time, delays resulting from consecutive loading will be to the vessel’s account.
13. Minimum mooring requirements are as follows:
  • 3 head lines
  • 3 breast lines each end
  • 2 spring lines each end
  • 3 stern lines
Preference is for all wire moorings but 2 wires each and for spring lines are essential. Also mixed mooring for the same service is not allowed. Vessels unable to present wires for spring lines will have their mooring lines inspected by the pilot on boarding. This inspection can only be carried out during day light. If found satisfactory the vessel will berth, provided the weather forecast, for the period the vessel is expected to be along side, is favorable. Any delays resulting from vessel not able to present wires for spring lines, will be for vessel’s account.
14. Although it’s recommended to regulate vessel’s manifold valves, closure time to 30 seconds, the minimum allowed time to close the liquid manifold valves in case of ESD activation is 20 seconds. In case of non-compliance manifold valve closure time may dictate the loading rate.
15. Maximum allowable tank pressure throughout vessel stay along side is 70 per cent of pressure safety relief valve (PSRV) set value.
16. Towing off wires shall be made fast to bitts as far forward and aft as practicable on the offshore side. The wire shall be in good condition, of adequate strength and secured with minimum 5 turns on the bitts, a towing off wire shall lead directly to the chock with 20 metres slack on deck. A heaving line made fast to the eye shall be used to maintain the eye of the wire between 1 and 2 metres above the water line at all times.
17. Vessel to possess valid certificate of fitness or relevant letter of compliance.
18. Vessel to be able to load at combined minimum rate of 1800 MT/Hr. if loading Propane/Butane simultaneously or 1000MT/Hr. when loading Propane or Butane only, with the vapour return connected and operational. Failure to load at above rate will result in delays to the vessel’s account.
