Who We Are

Who We Are

ADNOC Gas was formed as part of the consolidation of the operations of ADNOC Gas Processing, ADNOC LNG and ADNOC Industrial Gas.  The company became operational on 1 January 2023 as a new world scale entity, responsible for operations, maintenance and marketing across ADNOC’s downstream gas processing, liquified natural gas (LNG) and industrial gases businesses.

ADNOC’s gas businesses trace their heritage back to the 1970s and the vision of UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to minimize flaring and monetize gas associated with Abu Dhabi’s growing oil production.

ADNOC LNG was established in 1973 as the first LNG production company in the Arabian Gulf.

Through our pioneering Das Island LNG facilities located off the coast of Abu Dhabi, we process and produce LNG, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), paraffinic naphtha, and sulfur for export. The formation of ADNOC Gas Processing followed in 1978, leading to the construction of extensive process and pipeline infrastructure to treat and transport natural gas and other products derived from gas associated with Abu Dhabi’s burgeoning onshore oil production.

ADNOC Industrial Gas was established in 2007 and supplies nitrogen, oxygen and a number of other specialized gas products to a wide range of industrial and commercial customers across the UAE.
Since then, we have continued to invest in and develop our gas and LNG processing, transmission, and export infrastructure, expanding capacity and connectivity.

Today ADNOC Gas provides sales gas, petrochemical feedstock and other gas-derived products that have been central to enabling the economic development of Abu Dhabi and the UAE. We are also established as a reliable supplier of LNG to a growing number of utilities, portfolio players and traders around the world.

As we look to the future, ADNOC Gas is fully committed to building on the sustainable vision that first spurred the creation of Abu Dhabi’s gas businesses by reducing the emissions of our operations, safeguarding our environment and performing to the highest health and safety standards.

Footnote: ADNOC Gas holds the Group’s interests in the Das Island LNG facilities and onshore gas processing assets, held through two joint ventures with Mitsui, bp and TotalEnergies, and Shell, TotalEnergies and PTTEP, respectively.
